1. Taste of Pinellas
Food and music go great together. This weekend, Friday through Sunday, the two combine for Taste of Pinellas. More than 40 Tampa Bay area food vendors will be set up at Vinoy Park. The event also brings in national and Grammy Award-winning artists including Big and Rich, Ziggy Marley, All-American Rejects, Dashboard Confessional and Sheryl Crow. Tickets are $20.
2. 'Rocky Horror Show'
This is the second to last weekend to catch the widely entertaining "Rocky Horror Show". American Stage Theater is putting on the performance outdoors at Demens Landing in downtown St. Petersburg. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. The Patch RV will be at the show Saturday and we'll be giving out participation kits to the first 50 people to sign up for our newsletter or who bring a canned good to donate to Feeding America Tampa Bay.
3. Cinco de Mayo at the Pier
Jonny Reno's and the St. Petersburg Pier are celebrating Cinco de Mayo on Saturday. There will be live music from noon - midnight. From 4 - 8 p.m. you can get your picture with Jonny Reno's pet donkey, Carmen. From noon - 4 p.m., the Patch RV will be parked along the pier approach handing out Patch gear and water bottles to people who sign up for our newsletter or bring a canned good donation for Feeding America Tampa Bay.
4. Tampa Bay Rays
After sweeping the Seattle Mariners, the Tampa Bay Rays face another AL West foe in the Oakland Athletics this weekend. The three-game series kicks off Friday night at the Trop. The Rays are riding an incredible streak, winning nine straight home games. Tickets start at $12. At 18-8, the Rays have the best record in Major League Baseball. Come out and support your hometown team!
5. First Friday
If there is not enough to do Friday night with Taste of Pinellas and the Rays, head to downtown St. Petersburg for First Friday. The free event is a giant block party along Central Avenue from 2nd Street to 3rd Street. Vendors line the street and music blares from 5:30 - 10 p.m.
