5 Things You Need to Know Today: Watch a Movie, Play Outdoors, but Head Inside to Catch Some Rays

What typically plays indoors is outside today, and an outside game is played indoors. It must be opposite day! Not quite.

1.) Spring (Summer) in the City: The National Weather Service says we are in for another day of heat. A high of 87 is predicted, with bright sun and high humidity and the chance of an afternoon thunderstorm. Expect more of the same in the Sunshine City through the weekend.

2.) Outdoor Theater: A musical in the park is a spring tradition in St. Petersburg. This year, it's the contemporary Broadway show "Rent." The show is tonight at 8 p.m. Tickets are $11 in advance, $13 at the gate. The price goes up to $14 in advance, $16 at the gate on weekends. It is presented at Demens Landing, 100 1st Ave SE, in downtown St. Petersburg. Go to www.americanstage.org for more information.

3.) Outdoor Movies: The freeFall outdoor film festival presents a showing of the 1961 film "Breakfast at Tiffany's" at the group's new West Central Avenue HQ, 6099 Central. The movie starts at 8. Tickets are $5-$10. Food and drink will be available for purchase. The outdoor film festival will run every third Wednesday of the month through the summer.

4.) Outdoor Exercise: There's plenty of chances for some outdoor workouts relatively early in the morning before the weather gets too hot. There's yoga and hoop dancing at the Sunken Gardens, beginning at 10 a.m. Or you can take your youngster to the Jungle Boogie nature walks at the Boyd Hill Preserve.

5.) Indoor Baseball: The suddenly hot Tampa Bay Rays have a chance for revenge tonight at The Trop against the White Sox. The game starts at 6:40 p.m. Go to www.tamparays.com for tickets.
