Florida Baby Born at 12:12 p.m. on 12-12-12 at Bayfront Medical Center
Parents Jessica and Adrian Diaz welcomed a baby boy – their first child – at 12:12 p.m. on Dec. 12, 2012.
On Wednesday afternoon, Jessica and Adrian Diaz welcomed their firstborn child at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg.
If the significance of having their firstborn wasn't enough, baby Adrian Jayden Diaz was born at exactly 12:12 p.m. on 12-12-2012.
How's that for remarkable?
Wednesday, Dec. 12, marks the last time for the next 89 years that someone may be born on a date with repeating numbers for day, month and year.
Perhaps young Adrian will one day share this story with his grandkids or even great-grandkids, as the next significant year draws near.
Baby Adrian will be called AJ, his parents say. The healthy boy weighs in at 8 pounds and six ounces.
He was born after nearly 30 hours of labor, and his birth was not timed by a C-section.
The tired parents said that while they hoped for a 12-12-12 baby, in the end all that matters is being able to hold their son.
"It's a sidebar really," Adrian Diaz Sr. said of having a 12-12-12 baby. "It’s cool that it happened like that, but this is the greatest day of our lives."
Holding her son, Jessica Diaz smiled and said that she realized it was just a set of numbers. Nothing mattered except for her precious newborn.
"This baby means the world to me," Jessica Diaz said. "It just couldn't be any happier."
Jessica, who was due Dec. 7 and then told she was going to have the baby on Dec. 10, was not sure she was going to have a 12-12-12 baby until Tuesday morning.
Around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, she was admitted to Bayfront, and the doctors told her that baby AJ would more than likely be horn on this most unusual day on the calendar.
"Everybody talks about how it feels," Adrian Diaz Sr. said of holding his firstborn, "but there’s no way to put it into words. It’s amazing."
