According to authorities, detectives with the Robbery/Homicide Unit are conducting the investigation.

Last week, detectives found a 17-year-old Dunedin teen dead in the same canal.

Deputies said last week that Manuel Vivanco's body may have been in the water for about two days by the time a passerby found it on April 8.
