The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday the body of a female was found in a canal on the south side of the Jacaranda Retirement Home, which is located at 4250 66th St. N. in St. Petersburg.
Deputies have not released the name of the victim, how long she was in the water or whether her death is suspicious in nature.
According to authorities, detectives with the Robbery/Homicide Unit are conducting the investigation.
Last week, detectives found a 17-year-old Dunedin teen dead in the same canal.
Deputies said last week that Manuel Vivanco's body may have been in the water for about two days by the time a passerby found it on April 8.
