The city of St. Petersburg is offering grants to eligible nonprofit arts and cultural organizations for the next budget year. Applications and guidelines to receive funds are now available online at www.stpete.org/budget/grantsc.asp. Grants are due on or before Friday, June 15.
Organizations interested in applying for these grant funds are encouraged to attend an informational workshop, which will be held Wednesday, May 23 at 10 a.m. at St. Petersburg City Hall, 175 Fifth Street N., Room 100.
It is anticipated that for next year, St. Petersburg City Council will allocate approximately $175,000 to eligible arts and cultural organizations to assist them in underwriting their operating expenses.
The city's Arts Advisory Committee will evaluate the applications and make recommendations to City Council in October.
To be eligible, a nonprofit cultural organization must serve the residents of St. Petersburg. The amount provided to each organization depends on the merit of the application and the operating budget of the organization.
