Driver Dies From Crash after Fleeing Deputies
The 22-year-old motorist was driving with a revoked license when deputies attempted to pull him over.
Joshua Hall, 22, has died from injuries after leading Pinellas County deputies on a car chase that ended in a crash, according to authorities.
Hall was transported to a local hospital Saturday and was put on life support on Saturday, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Hall was removed from life support late Sunday and was pronounced dead after 9 p.m. Sunday.
The chase began around 1 a.m. Saturday. Deputies had attempted to stop Hall on suspicions that he was driving impaired. According to deputies, Hall refused to stop and led deputies on a brief pursuit.
After the pursuit was terminated, Hall's vehicle crashed into a tree at 11th Avenue North and 25th Street in St. Pete.
According to deputies, three other people were in the car at the time of the crash. They were also transported to a local hospital for treatment. No update on their status has been given.
While searching Hall's vehicle, deputies said they found multiple bags of marijuana and open containers of alcohol. Hall, a news release said, also had a revoked Driver's License.
