Deacon is charged with DUI Manslaughter, DUI Serious Bodily Injury and Leaving the Scene of a Crash Involving Death.

According to police:

The 2006 Ford F250 was traveling south on Coffee Pot Bouelvard, as Mastell and Wurr, 71, were walking along the sidewalk next to the waterfront.

Deacon lost control of his vehicle on a turn oand over-corrected, according to police. The vehicle traveled over the east curb and up on to the sidewalk.

The front of Deacon's vehicle struck the pedestrians, knocking Mastell over the seawall and into the water.

Deacon has always been a really good kid. It is very sad that one bad decision can be so devistating. This is very heartbreaking for both him and the victims and their families.

i am sure he was a good kid. Everyone was a good kid sometime in their life unless born rotten. I live just five or six houses down and it is sad. I see the crash site every day. There are a few flowers left at the site. hard to understand how he could have done it the way my street is laid out. It's a 15 miles per hour zone.

Of course he was driving a full size v8 pick 'em up truck and he was the only one in it and was not hauling a load of anything other than his blood alcohol.
