Hot Pink Hibiscus Festival Reveals the Natural Wonders of Sunken Gardens
The St. Pete fest was an excuse to explore the century-old gardens.
The Sunday Hibiscus Festival at Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg offered visitors a chance to buy some of the flowering plants in hues of pink, white and blazing reds. But it also provided a great excuse to walk through the tropical jungle that is located in one of the busiest sections of north St. Petersburg, on 4th Street North. For visitors, an afternoon walk through the gardens was the perfect way to escape the heat, since tall oaks, palms and bamboo shade the walkways and ponds. Here is a journey, in photos, through the city-owned gardens.
