Main Event: Special Movie Screening at BayWalk
The film is a funny take on standing out while trying to fit in at middle school. The movie is part of the Tampa International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival Monthly Screening for Pride.
"Spork," a funny, bittersweet look at middle school, may spark some familiar memories for audiences.
The musical comedy is about sticking out while trying to fit in. The film is described as a foul-mouthed sendup whose hero is a frizzy-haired outcast just trying to make it through the school day.
The film's promoters say the comedy's appeal is in the "quirky jokes, catchy tunes, mind-blowing dance moves and shocking social commentary."
The movie is tonight at 7:30 at the Baywalk 20 theater, and is a feature in the Tampa International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival Monthly Screening for Pride. Before the movie, there will be a live auction to benefit the film festival, with prizes that include a vacation in Orlando and a Caribbean cruise. Admission is $9.50, or $7 for students.
