Man in Critical Condition After Shooting
The shooting occurred at the Mariners Pointe Apartments, which has a long history of crime in the area.
A St. Petersburg man is listed in critical condition after being shot Monday at the Mariners Pointe Apartments, 1175 Pinellas Point Drive S.
According to St. Petersburg Police, officers arrived on the scene around 12:30 Monday afternoon and found 31-year-old Tieyannie Dewitte Hollis shot in front of building 36.
Police said Hollis was visiting the apartment complex at the time the shooting took place. He was standing outside building 36 when he was approached by a least one suspect and shot in the upper body.
Hollis, police said, was transported to Bayfront Medical Center where he has undergone surgery and is listed in critical condition.
Detectives have not authorized the release of any additional details regarding
the shooting at this time.
The apartment complex is located between 16th and 9th streets South.
In May 2011, a security officer at the Mariners Pointe Apartments was shot to death. The guard was identified as Mathew Finley Little, 26, of Brandon.
According to police, in that case, Little was found shot once next to the pools and tennis court.

THIS IS AN EYE OPENER OF HOW THERE IS A SYSTEM WITH NO PURPOSE. EVERY EVENT WAS A WEEK APART. THE AUTHORITIES CHOOSE WHICH CASE IS IMPORTANT AND WHICH IS NOT. I CAN NOT BELIEVE 2 PEOPLE ARE GONE AND THE KILLER IS STILL ON THE LOOSE. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I TRULY BELIEVE THAT THE SYSTEM FAILED THE VICTIMS. THE FIRST VICTIM REPORTED HIM A WEEK BEFORE HER DEATH, HOW IS SHE DECEASED? IF SHE REPORTED HIM AS A DRUG DEALER MAKING A SELL THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A MAN-HUNT. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT BRINGING JUSTICE. THEY JUST WANT A HIGHER COMMISSION. CRACKING DOWN ON DRUGS GIVES THEM HIGHER PAY BECAUSE THEY POCKET THE MONEY THAT'S SEIZED FROM THE DEFENDANTS. MOTHER AND FATHER WAS LOST AND THAT BRINGS A LOT OF PAIN TO IMMEDIATE FAMILY AND THE CHILDREN WHO NOW HAVE TO SURVIVE WITHOUT GROWING UP WITH THERE PARENTS. REALLY SAD. ALL WE CAN DO IS BLESS THERE SOUL DEFINITELY CANT DEPEND ON THE SYSTEM AND AUTHORITIES TO BRING JUSTICE. THE SYSTEM IS JUST A BUSINESS OF ELIMINATION. THERE JUST THERE FOR A CHECK AND ALSO WATCH US KILL ALL EACH OTHER ONE BY ONE AND MAKE THE SYSTEM PLEASE BY DECREASING OUR RACE NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES BE WISE
