Motorcycle Driver Seriously Injured in Crash
The driver of the Suzuki was transported to Bayfront Medical Center with serious injuries. Police believe alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
The driver of a motorcycle is in serious condition after his 2008 Suzuki collided with another vehicle Wednesday at 4th Street and 78th Avenue North.
According to St. Petersburg Police, a vehicle being driven by Phillip Corcella, was northbound on 4th Street North and was preparing to make a left hand turn onto 78th Avenue North.
A 2008 Suzuki motorcycle, being driven by an unidentified male, was southbound on 4th Street North in the curb lane and was approaching the intersection of 78th Avenue North. The vehicle and Suzuki had a steady green light and Corcella made a left hand turn in front of the Suzuki prior to them colliding, according to police.
The driver of the Suzuki, police said, was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the roadway just south of the point of impact. The driver of the Suzuki was transported to Bayfront Medical Center with serious injuries. Corcella was not injured.
Police believe alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
