New Boat Ramps at Maximo Park

The city will install five boat ramps and one super-sized ramp where seven boats can be launched at one time.

Construction will begin in September on new and improved boat ramps at St. Petersburg's Maximo Park, 34th St. S. wide and Pinellas Point Drive.

Beginning Sept. 10-April, 2013, work will include demolishing existing boat ramps and docks, minor dredging, and installation of five 22' boat ramps and one 44' wide boat ramp, with enough capacity to launch seven typical boats at one time.

During construction, there will be limited boating access. However there may be times during construction when all boat ramps are inaccessible. The $751,034 project is funded through the Penny for Pinellas and a Florida Boating Improvement Grant.

Maximo Park is one of the city's largest and most unique parks, with 70 acres
on Boca Ciega Bay. A rich archeological site, visitors now enjoy a beach, observation deck, playground, picnic shelters, disc golf course, bike paths
and meandering wilderness trails.
