Pedestrian Killed on Gandy Boulevard
The 24-year-old man was walking in the road at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday, when he was struck by a vehicle.
State Police aren't sure why 24-year-old Dale Roberts was walking on Gandy Boulevard after 3 a.m. Saturday.
The 24-year-old, who was not wearing reflective clothing, was struck by a Chevy Blazer. Roberts died at the scene.
Todd M. Parks, 26, of New York told officers he did not see Roberts.
Police say that Parks was eastbound on Gandy Boulevard, just west of the Gandy Bridge, when the accident occurred.
Roberts, who lived in Pinellas Park, was walking in the roadway for unknown reasons. Unable to see the pedestrian in the dark, Parks collided with Roberts, who suffered fatal injuries.
