We have all seen this much too often - people walking or riding bicycles in the darkness of night without a light or reflective clothing, yet using the street as if others are expected to somehow see them and avoid them before it is too late.

It is interesting that there are always numerous and intense national headlines and TV shows regarding people getting killed in a mass murder incident or about the 6,500 (total over 10 years) U.S. military deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan. But what do we see every day in the newspapers or on TV about the 40,000+ innocent people killed EVERY YEAR on our streets and highways?
