It was a brutally hot day in St. Petersburg on Saturday, but not even the peaking temperatures could keep the crowds down. Thousands of people poured onto Central Ave. between the blocks of 21st St. and 28th St. to celebrate Florida's largest gay pride event.
An entertainment packed parade made its way from Georgie's Alibi to the end of the route on Central Avenue. Beads, candy and fans were thrown to onlookers. Families cheered from the sideline while others danced in celebration.
2012 marked St. Pete Pride's tenth round of success and the numbers in attendance are steadily increasing with each year.
Patch editors were on hand at the event to capture some of the day's most memorable moments. Check them out and don't forget to add your photos to our neighborhood gallery.
