Police Investigate Suspicious Fire in South St. Pete

Sunday morning, police were called to a

 

St. Petersburg Police and St. Pete Fire & Rescue are investigating a suspicious fire that occurred around 5 a.m. Sunday. 

According to police, officers responded to a call at 911 9th Ave. S. Sunday morning to assist firefighters with a fire to a vacant residence.

Upon arrival, police said they were advised an un-responsive female was located inside the residence with burns on 15% of her body.

The victim was transported to Bayfront Medical Hospital and is in critical condition.

According to police, there were no obvious signs of trauma to the victim’s body. The cause of the fire and the identity of the victim have not
been determined. The investigation is ongoing.
