It was/is a great testament of diversity within St. Pete. The promenade and street festival are a great opportunity for everyone in attendance to smile, laugh and enjoy others around them. The various vendors and exhibitors at the street festival shows me and many others that humankind has come a long way, and we have many more strides to make until equality is achieved.
I will say that the Promenade and street festival are definitely my favorite part of the Pride fest, it brings together all sorts of people: young, old, straight, gay, able bodied, disabled, flamboyant and not so, the list can go on and on. I tip my theoretical hat to all of those that came out, even if for one day, equality and diversity was not only accepted, it was expected.
