Say Hello to St. Pete Patch

The Old Northeast Patch name has changed but you still can expect the same devotion to community and neighborhood coverage.

Old Northeast-Downtown St. Pete Patch officially became St. Pete Patch Thursday afternoon.

We hope the switch will make it easier for those who love and follow all things St. Pete to find us on the Internet. The name change to StPete.Patch.com simply reflects our dedication to covering the entire city of St. Petersburg. 

For a long time we've reported on city issues affecting more than just the residents and business owners of Old Northeast and downtown.

Now we'll have a name to reflect that. Plus, we've heard from a lot of folks asking us to represent the entire 'burg!

If you follow us on Facebook and/or Twitter, those names will be changing, too, though it will not be instant.

One thing that does not have to change is your Old Northeast bookmarks. The OldNortheast.Patch.com URL will be redirected to the new URL. 

Thank you, St. Petersburg, for your continued support of Patch. This is a change many of you have been asking for because of the need local and neighborhood news in St. Pete. 

Patch is keenly interested in covering the diverse neighborhoods and communities in Tampa Bay.

We have Patch sites in 23 Tampa Bay area communities, including Gulfport, Clearwater, South Tampa and Bradenton. Check them out!
