Sunoco Robbery Suspect Arrested
St. Petersburg Police arrested one suspect and are asking for the public's help to find the second suspect in connection with four convenience store robberies.
Anthony Wayne Beauford, 20, of St. Petersburg, was arrested on Thursday and charged with armed robbery at the Sunoco Station at 6800 4th St. N.
According to police, Beauford and another suspect entered in the store just after 11 a.m. Wednesday. Both men covered their faces. One suspect was armed; the other was not and went behind the counter to get the cash.
The suspects not only robbed the cashier, but also robbed a delivery driver who was in the store at the time, police say.
Police believe the two suspects may be connected to three convenience store robberies that happened on Feb. 5 and 11 because the scenario at all four stores is the same.
The first robbery took place on Feb. 5 at the Kenwood Citgo gas station location at 900 34th St. N., police said Wednesday. The second and third robberies both took place within 15 minutes of each other on Feb. 11.
The first Feb. 11 robbery took place around 9:50 p.m. at the Chevron Station at 5405 Dr. Martin Luther King St. N.
According to the police report, 15 minutes later the same two suspects committed a robbery to the KR Food Store at 2835 16th St. N.
Police are asking anyone who might recognize the second suspect to contact Detective Wallace Pavelski at 727-893-4823. Callers may also utilize 727-893-7780 or the TIP line at 727-892-5000.
Police have provided the surveillance video of the suspect at large from a
convenience store on February 6, a day after the Kenwood Citgo robbery. In the video the suspect can be seen cashing in a lottery tickets taken the
previous evening during that robbery.
He is believed to be the same individual depicted in the photo released of the first robbery at the Kenwood Citgo Station wearing the Pinellas Park sweatshirt, which is attached to this story.
