Alfred Hitchcock’s 1959 film, “North by Northwest,” is considered a masterpiece of modern American cinema. The film stars Cary Grant, the Brad Pitt of his day (though Cary could teach Brad a thing or two about acting). The film has scenes that made cinematic history, including Grant outrunning a menacing crop duster and scaling Mount Rushmore. The movie shows tonight for free, at 7, in North Straub Park, on the downtown waterfront. Bring a blanket ,or rent a comfy chair, and sit back for two hours of old-fashioned entertainment. St. Petersburg Preservation is the sponsor of "May Music and Movies in the Park."
