7-11 Robbery Caught on Video; Police Seek Public's Help
A pair of convenience store robberies prompts the police to ask the public for tips to solve the cases.
St. Petersburg investigators are trying to determine if back-to-back robberies of two convenience stores are related.
The robberies both took place at 7-11 store. The similarities also include the day of the week (Monday night and early Tuesday morning), the time of day, the number of suspects in each case (two), the general description of the suspects and the type of clothing they were wearing - including covering their faces and wearing gloves, the suspect's method of committing the crime, and the general
proximity between the two locations of the 7-11 stores.
On Monday Oct. 29, at 11:15 p.m., the St. Petersburg Police Department
investigated an Armed Robbery at the 7-11 store located at 11590 4th Street
On Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at 1:08 a.m., the St. Petersburg Police Department

In the second armed robbery, a St. Petersburg Police Officer shot and killed
one of the suspects, Lamont Burgess, moments after he left the store. A
second suspect, Ebony C. Oliver, has been charged with Armed Robbery and Felony Murder in that case.
Police are releasing the store surveillance video from both cases with the hope of generating tips and/or leads to help investigators solve the earlier case on October 29, 2012.
Also, St. Petersburg Police Department Investigators have identified and
interviewed the driver of the getaway vehicle in the Armed Robbery on
November 6th, but that person has not been charged with a crime.
The person's name is being withheld at this time, since he/she is currently listed as a witness in the police investigation.
