From the Baywalk parking garage, the sounds from Jannus Live were remnant of Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens. Dark, mysterious melodies and monstrous tempos could be heard for blocks from the outdoor music venue.

Tech N9ne (Aaron Yates) was in town to promote the release of his 13th studio album,"All 6's and 7's." Yates has performed more than 1,000 live shows since 2003, so St. Pete is just another addition to his already extensive resume.

Yates was born in Missouri and started rapping at a young age. His first ditty on record was one  to remember the letters of his name, so he could spell it correctly. From there, Yates grew as an artist and a business man.

In 1999, Yates started his own record label called "Strange Music." Not only was he recording his own hits, but he was also scouting talent and signing names like Jay Rock and Stevie Stone.

To date, Yates has had his hands in a number of playing fields. His music can be heard on everything from major motion pictures to television shows to video games. "All 6's and 7's" was released on June 7, and features hip hop royals like Snoop Dogg, B.o.B. and Lil Wayne.

Yates, or Tech N9ne rather, performed for a jam-packed Jannus Live on Saturday night. Drinks were ice cold and the show was red hot. Tech N9ne's talent and presence were undeniable, as he paraded the stage.

His energy never dimmed, despite the raging temperatures that fans in St. Pete have grown accustomed to. Moshing, usually only seen at rock concerts, was in full effect. A legitimately groomed light show was on display via the stage behind Tech N9ne for a full-on musical experience.
