Will Isaac Upstage the RNC?

Florida Gov. Rick Scott says the final call will be up to RNC leaders.

Gov. Rick Scott said today that he is activating Florida's Emergency Operations Center and meeting with convention officials, as concern grows about Tropical Storm Isaac's potential impact on the Republican National Convention in Tampa.

Scott told NBC News today:

"Isaac is a unique storm in this regard, it has the potential to threaten a major convention, designated a special national security event," Scott said Thursday. "That's why I have convened local, state, federal and conventional officials for twice daily briefings." (See attached video of the governor's press conference.)

The RNC runs from Aug. 27-30, with more than 50,000 visitors expected to pour into the Tampa Bay area. A kickoff party is scheduled for Aug. 26 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.

The governor said convention officials will make any final decision about RNC activities, but also noted that he is in contact with RNC leaders twice a day.

Meanwhile, CNN reports that Mitt Romney will be nominated, even if Isaac makes a beeline for the Tampa Bay area:

"We do have contingency plans to deal with weather related and other circumstances that may occur to ensure that the business can go on at the RNC and Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will become our nominees," RNC communications director Sean Spicer said on CNN's "Starting Point with Soledad O'Brien."

Spicer said that while the safety of delegates and others attending next week's Republican National Convention was paramount, the actual business of nominating Romney would not be delayed by bad weather.

"There is no such thing as canceling," Spicer said.

The Tampa Bay area lies in the five-day forecast zone for tropical storm Isaac, with the latest projections placing the storm just west of southwest Florida by Monday.

Isaac weakened Wednesday night to 40 mph but is predicted to regain strength as it travels west-northwest toward Haiti.

"There is no such thing as canceling???? Has Mr. Spicer ever been in a hurricane?

What he meant was that the official business of the convention, i.e., the nominations of Lord Romney and Eddie Munster and the passage of their 13th century platform, cannot be cancelled. The circus and freak show that is known as the convention can indeed be cancelled because of a hurricane.

Before the teabaggers jump through their anal sphincters, my remarks would also apply with minor modification to the clown college known as the Democrats. In other words, no matter who wins the election, we lose.

George, nothing says planning like this party putting its convention in FL in late August. These people would stand accused of at least lacking a bit of common sense and ordinary reason, if their candidate weren't a virtual bag of chameolinic pixels immune to the vicissitudes of time, nature, and fortune -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxch-yi14BE

WOW! "... virtual bag of chameolinic pixels immune to the vicissitudes of time, nature, and fortune?" That's the fanciest description I've ever seen of an Etch-a-Sketch.

I think the Republicans view any form of planning as a Marxist concept and we can't have any of that.

Of course, this doesn't let the Democrats off the hook. Who thought it was a good idea to hold the Democratic convention in the hometown of Billy Graham and his strange son Franklin? Billy and Franklin may be coming out of the woodwork and calling down the wrath of God on all those atheistic, Muslim worshippers of abortion and terrorism.

There's a perversity that shapes them both. Planning, and Reason itself, Marxist, therefore evil and satanic. Baggers prefer God to lead them through the desert. Perhaps they thought a cyclonic hurricane would resemble a pillar of fire. As for the Dems - who knows? Hoping to seduce the mountain men? Seem saner by contrast?

Isaac will disrupt the RNC longer than a day, because of Romney. The one true God hates the spiritual power behind the Mormon Church, who intends to buy the White House for his cyborg puppet. To gain an existential understanding of the cult that produced Mitt "Cyborg" Romney, and to get your socks scared off, read The Assassination of Spiro Agnew, available at:

www.amazon.com/Assassination-Spiro-Agnew-novel-ebook/dp/B0083EGJXC

Its unwilling, part Mexican, Mormon assassin dramatizes the Mormon superiority complex manifesting as racism, sexism, jingoism and an anti-federal government temperament. His research in the new library reveals ominous similarities between Islam and Mormonism. The spiritual power behind the cult, which is not the Holy Ghost, acts out.

“With a clarity of language and vision unsurpassed in contemporary American prose, Steven Janiszewski's Assassination of Spiro Agnew takes us into a U.S. mazed with madness and Mormonism and all things Utah, a U.S. that was then and still is. Do we need a novel, even as brilliant as this one, about a young man on a divine mission to assassinate the Vice President because he is too liberal? Yes, now more than ever. Readers, welcome to a masterpiece.”

Read The Assassination of Spiro Agnew.
Word has it that David Axelrod enjoyed its post-modern style as much as he relished being abhorred by the Mormon experience.

Louisiana needs to take a lesson from other states. Learn to take care of your own issues, before asking others for help. Katrina wasn't Bush's fault and Issac isn't going to be Obama's fault.
How come the governor of Louisana seems to have a hard time watching the weather channel and taking care of their own. Of course it is someone elses fault.
