The body of a woman was pulled from Lake Maggiore on Christmas Day. She is believed to be a 42-year-old woman but investigators are trying to confirm her identity and notify next of kin.

Police found the woman dead in the water at about 4 p.m., when they responded to a call about a body floating in the lake. 

When they arrived, they found the unidentified white female, who was pulled from the water and pronounced dead by rescue workers at about 4 p.m. The body was found on the north side of Lake Maggiore, in the 2800 block of 13th Street South.

The medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

Once the body is identified, police will notify next of kin before releasing the name to the public.
