Dad to travel 1000 miles for Father Daughter Ball in Clearwater
Steve Durr lives in Ohio. But he’ll hit the road in October bound for Clearwater to take his 8-year-old daughter Kylisha to the Father Daughter Ball.
They went last year and were hooked. And Durr isn’t letting a little distance keep him away.
“We had such a great time last year, I plan to take my daughter to this event until she’s 18 years old,” Durr said. “She’s growing up so fast, I don’t want to miss the opportunity to share this special time together with my princess.”
Durr actually began calling to get Father Daughter Ball
information in March to make sure he had plenty of time to get his plans made.
On Saturday evening, Oct. 13, Girls Inc. will host the annual Father Daughter Ball at the Kapok Pavilion Grand Ballroom.

The Ball will be an enchanted evening for hundreds of dads and daughters. Radio Disney will provide the entertainment, and the ball also includes a sumptuous buffet catered by Texas Cattle Company, portraits, auctions, and much more. Auction items include vacation getaways, sports memorabilia, tickets to Florida attractions, and plenty of bling.
This will be an evening dad’s royal princess won’t forget. The first 100 girls to register will receive a complimentary limo ride from Fifth third Bank to the Kapok Pavilion. Last year this event sold out well in advance.
Reservations are required, no walk-ups.
Proceeds benefit Girls Incorporated of Pinellas, a non-profit youth development program helping the girls of today develop the tools and vision to become the leaders of tomorrow.

More About Kapok Special Events Center
Kapok Special Events Center is located in the same area as Sam Ash Music. This center is one of the most unique locations in the southeast and provides a rather breathtaking location for any important event in your life, from a party to a corporate event to the most important event: your wedding. Space is available outside in the garden and in many inside rooms.
The decor will literally whisk you back into another time and dimension. In the garden, winding walkways go past waterfalls and benches and hanging baskets of flowers with vines that look to be centuries old covering most of one of the walls and statues almost in every direction. Inside, there’s a room set up and ready to go for a wedding, a very large ballroom with the most amazing crystal chandelier that feels like a set out of a 1950s movie and many more rooms.
