North Straub Park, 400 Bayshore Dr NE, Saint Petersburg, FL | Get Directions »
$12.00
First Night St. Pete 2012 occurs on more than 28 venues all across downtown to create a family-friendly celebration of epic and artful proportions rife with fireworks, live music, entertainment, dance, games, art, and more.
Purchase a "First Night" button and take in all the fun.
Here, stop at the resolution bonfire from 5pm to midnight and tell stories of the past year and what you hope next year has in store.
At 7pm, enjoy the music of Sound Parlor -- three teens from St. Petersburg whose sound is reminiscent of the bands of the '60s and the 70s.
Then at 8pm, listen to the talent and guitar artistry of 14-year-old resident Suite Caroline, followed by the energetic Vodkanauts at 10:30pm.
Throughout the evening, from 8pm to 11:30pm, join in or listen to a community drumming circle directed by Jana Broder with 75 people in a constantly changing group.
Also, "get your fun on" with games and other activities presented by TASCO, the city's award-winning teen programs, and glide into 2012 on a realistic ice-skating rink (bring your own socks).

More About North Straub Park
With classic statues and old-growth banyan trees, North Straub Park is an inviting green space in the heart of downtown. The park is next to the Museum of Fine Arts and borders Beach Drive, the trendy shopping district that is the crown jewel of downtown. North Straub Park also has an outdoor performance stage, its roof draped with tropical bougainvillea flowers which provide a natural canopy for frequent performances, from free movies and music to children's shows and holiday celebrations.
