Gallery Talk: Glass, Then and Now (*Registration Required)

This gallery talk begins at the Museum of Fine Arts, then continues with a demonstration at 1pm at the Morean Glass Studio and Hot Shop.

At the museum, Egyptologist Dr. Robert Steven Bianchi will "trace the development of ancient glass from its enigmatic origins in the Near East and its transformation by the Egyptians of the New Kingdom," the museum says. 

Lunch and transportation to the Morean is not included.

Please register in advance; this event is limited to 50 participants.

Located on Beach Drive in downtown St. Petersburg, The Museum of Fine Arts overlooks scenic Tampa Bay. With more than 14,000 objects ranging from antiquity to the present day, patrons can spend a day admiring the exhibits.  Steuben glass, decorative arts and pre-Columbian objects are some of the items on display. Visitors also enjoy strolling through two interior gardens where sculpture is on display in a quiet and contemplative setting.
