Dedicated to the St. Petersburg officers killed in the line of duty in 2011, this event raises money for the Partners for Life Foundation, which offers support to families who lose loved ones to acts of violence. Organizers say the foundation's first donation of $2,000 was made last year to the family of Matthew Little, a security guard killed on duty.
The K-9 Officer Jeff Yaslowitz 10K race/walk starts at 6:59am.
The Sgt. Tom Baitinger 5K race/walk starts at 8:30am.
The Officer Dave Crawford one-mile Walk to Remember begins at 10:30am.
The races will be computer-timed, with aid stations stocked with water, Gatorade and oranges. There also will be a finish-line celebration with fruit, bagels, pasta and live entertainment, organizers say.

More About North Straub Park
With classic statues and old-growth banyan trees, North Straub Park is an inviting green space in the heart of downtown. The park is next to the Museum of Fine Arts and borders Beach Drive, the trendy shopping district that is the crown jewel of downtown. There are views of Vinoy Marina to the east and sidewalk cafes to the west. North Straub Park also has an outdoor performance stage, its roof draped with tropical bougainvillea flowers which provide a natural canopy for frequent performances, from free movies and music to children's shows and holiday celebrations.
