Tropicana Field

Fans wanting to watch Major League Baseball but not wanting to roast in the Florida heat and humidity have found Tropicana Field to be an oasis. Home to the Tampa Bay Rays, Tropicana Field is a domed stadium built in the late 1980s. Tropicana Field is a climate-controlled Major League Baseball park with a constant temperature of 72 degrees, free of the daily summer Florida thunderstorms. The stadium, located on the western outskirts of downtown, is easy to get to from many city thoroughfares as well as Interstates 275, 175 and 375. Ample parking is available. The stadium holds 43,772 fans when all the tarps are removed from the upper deck, usually only for playoff games. The stadium also includes a sports bar called the Brewhouse, the Ted Williams Hitters Hall of Fame, a rays touch tank operated by the Florida Aquarium and the Batter's Eye restaurant.
