Drier Weather in Store for St. Pete's Weekend?

Forecasters are calling for a more normal pattern of afternoon storms on Saturday and Sunday.

St. Petersburg residents with big weekend plans must just find the weather cooperative this weekend.

While the National Weather Service says Friday, July 19, could prove to be a big soggy with rain chances around 60 percent, Saturday and Sunday are expected be much nicer days.

“(We’ll see) generally a drying trend,” said meteorologist Andrew Garcia.

That said, Garcia warns that rain chances still exist over the weekend. They’re hovering around 30 to 40 percent for both Saturday and Sunday. But, forecasters anticipate storms will follow a more normal summer afternoon pattern this weekend at least.

So, what about those temperatures?

Garcia said to expect highs in the upper 80s to low 90s in most parts of Tampa Bay. Lows should be in the 70s.
