Lens Activists Go Door To Door
The volunteers said that their goal is to share information about rebuilding the Pier.
A group called Build the Pier is going door to door throughout St. Pete this weekend. The volunteer activists are urging people to "vote no to move forward."
A "No" vote means "yes" on the Lens moving forward. The group is supported by a PAC called Citizens for the St. Pete Pier.
"This is about getting the vote out," said Steve Coderre, a volunteer activist.
"It comes down to moving forward for the community," said Marcus Martin, co-chair of the PAC.
About 20 volunteers were fanning out across the city Saturday to share information about rebuilding the Pier.
