‘Miserable’ Weather Heading Our Way

Forecasters say the St. Pete area is in for some heavy storms over the next few days, but things should clear up in time for some weekend fun.

Batten down the hatches. Forecasters at the National Weather Service say the St. Petersburg area is in for a “miserable” start to the week.

“It’s going to be wet,” said meteorologist Andrew McKaughan. “We’re expecting quite a bit of rainfall going into Thursday. It’s definitely going to be miserable.”

McKaughan said the Tampa Bay region should see between 2 to 4 inches of rain with heavy storms and some thunderstorms anticipated daily. Courtesy of all that rain, however, daily high temperatures might not break the 90-degree mark, he added.

There is a silver lining in those clouds to look forward to, McKaughan pointed out.
