Welcome to your Patch Minute and welcome to your weekend! There's lots to do in Gulfport, St. Pete and the beaches. We're starting in the park and ending on the beach!

St. Pete

The 26th annual Green Thumb Festival is a free family event on Saturday and Sunday at Walter Fuller Park in St. Petersburg. The Garden Club of St. Petersburg is also hosting a free flower show called "Spirit of America" in conjunction with the event. The festival will feature exhibits, programs and demonstrations on how you can recycle, conserve and landscape effectively. The event is from 9 - 4 both days.

Want to spend some time on the water? Stop by the Boca Ciega Yacht Club on Saturday from 1 - 4 for their annual "Fun Day" featuring free sailboat rides. There will be free hot dogs and soda and of course door prizes. Gulfport Patch will be at the event, so stop by and say "hi" and drop off a donation for Feeding America Tampa Bay.

The Beaches

For those of you looking to put your feet in the sand, we have a the inaugural Bikini Blues Bash at Treasure Island Beach on Saturday.
