5 Things to do in St. Pete This Weekend

What are you doing this weekend, St. Petersburg?

1. A Slice of the Burg Music and Arts Festival

From noon-11 p.m. Saturday outside the Historic YMCA you can enjoy live music and great art while helping to save the Historic YMCA in downtown St. Petersburg. The music is headlined by funk legends George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic. Others performing include the Black Honkeys, Rise of Saturn and Fall on Purpose. A full schedule of events and bands can be viewed at asliceoftheburg.com. Tickets can be purchased online or picked up for free at Daddy Kool Records or Courigan's Irish Pub. 

2. The Last Day of the Pier

Friday marks the last day to visit the St. Petersburg Pier. There are no major events planned as vendors and businesses prepare to close. The pier aquarium will be open until 4 p.m. Friday. Other shop and restaurant hours will vary. The pier closes at 11 p.m.

3. Face to Face at State Theatre

Friday at State Theatre, 687 Central Ave., Face to Face will be rocking St. Pete downtown St. Pete. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets start at $22. Opening for Face to Face is Teenage Bottlerocket, Blacklist Royals and Johua Black Wilkins. Tickets can be purchased online

 

4. Jackie Evancho at the Mahaffey

You may have seen 10-year-old performing on the NBC hit, "America's Got Talent" and this weekend you can see her at the Mahaffey Theater. According to a news release, "Jackie’s first studio album, Dream with Me, a mix of operatic arias, show tunes and pop standards, was certified Gold after four weeks of release. Her third album released last October, Songs from the Silver Screen, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Classical charts and at #7 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart." The show begins at 7 p.m. and tickets can be purchased online

5. Saturday Morning Market in Williams Park

This weekend, the Saturday Morning Market will be changing locations for the summer months from the Al Lang Stadium parking lot to Williams Park. The market is from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and will feature more than 40 local food/gardening/clothing/craft vendors. The market will return to Al Lang in October.
