5 Things to do in St. Pete This Weekend

Rays vs. Giants, First Friday, Saturday Morning Market, Free Museum Day and Comedic Improv are five things to do in St. Pete this weekend.

1. Free Museum Day

Want to tour museums in Tampa Bay for free? If you are a Bank of America or Merrill Lynch cardholder you can get free access to the Florida Holocaust Museum, Museum of Fine Arts or the Tampa Museum of Art. The free museum days are Aug. 3 and 4 during regular museum operating hours.

2. Rays vs. Giants

Your first place Tampa Bay Rays are taking on the reigning World Series Champion San Francisco Giants this weekend in a three-game series. Friday night's game begins at 7:10 p.m., Saturday's at 7:10 p.m. and Sunday at 1:40 p.m. If you are one of the first 10,000 fans into the Trop Saturday you can get your very own Joe Maddon gnome.

3. First Friday

Enjoy music, beer and food in the street as the Tropics turn a portion of Central Avenue in downtown St. Pete into a block party. The free party runs from 5:30 - 10 p.m. the first Friday of every month.

4. Improv Comedy at American Stage

On the first Sunday night of every month, head to American Stage for hilarious Improv Comedy. "The Dumb Show and 321, Hawk and Wayne presents The Memory. A new long form of improvisation that is based on the audiences suggestion of a certain memory or event in their life that comes right off the top of their heads," a news release said. The show will still take place every first Sunday of each month at 8 p.m., will still remain Pay-What-You-Can (suggested $5 - $15) or $15 in advance.

5. Saturday Morning Market

Each Saturday during the summer months, Williams Park transforms into the Saturday Morning Market. From 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. you can check out more than 40 vendors that provide: fresh produce, pasta, plants, clothing and much more. The event is free. The market will be located at Williams through Aug. 24
