Play Reading: "Slow Burn"
The theater presents a reading of "Slow Burn" by Kim Hanna. Here's a description from the theater's Web page:
Jett has established a successful career in Philadelphia, a short drive and a lifetime away from her hometown of Centralia, where a mine fire has been burning underground for decades. With news of a relocation offer from the government, Jett returns to Centralia to convince her mother to leave, but her mother has something else in mind. Deceased for a year, her husband, Finn, left journals describing a long-term affair with Jett. Following a painful journey through his journals, mother and daughter are able to place the blame for the past and redemption for the future where they rightfully belong.
