For Potter Fans, It All Begins at Midnight

'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II' premieres locally at the Baywalk IMAX, plus theaters in Pinellas Park, Largo, Seminole and South Tampa.

It's finally here... the final Harry Potter film, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II," will be released at midnight tonight.

The epic finale of the 14-year series of movies will play at 12:01 a.m. in St. Petersburg at the IMAX in the Baywalk Muvico. It will also play at (or soon after) midnight at theaters in Pinellas Park, Seminole, Largo and Tampa.

If you don't have tickets, you might be in for a tough time trying to get them for the midnight shows. Tickets to the sought-after midnight shows around Tampa Bay were already being sold Wednesday on Craigslist.

If you can't make the midnight Thursday shows, don't feel too left out. Harry and Voldemort will replay their battle for world domination nearly continuously Friday and through the weekend at the same theaters (click on the links above to see showtimes).

The film premiered in London last weekend and has received very strong reviews. With advance ticket sales already setting records, the film is expected to be a box office blockbuster.

Also on Friday, there will be a "Harry Potter Book Bash" at the main branch of the . Beginning at 2 p.m., there will be a costume contest, Harry trivia, games, face painting and more.

It's free, but open only to kids 12 and under (and their parents or guardians).
