Free Waterfront Movie Tonight: 'Roman Holiday'

Watch classic movies under the stars, as St. Pete Preservation presents the second annual movies in May at beautiful North Straub Park.

For the second year, St. Petersburg Preservation with the support of Sylvia Rusche Insurance, is sponsoring "May Music & Movies in the Park."  The events are free and on the waterfront.

Each Thursday  in May, North Straub Park will be the setting for live music and a movie at dark. It all starts at 7 p.m.

Some of the best of the Saturday Morning Market vendors will be on hand for those who would like to purchase food and enjoy a picnic.

Convenient parking will be available at the Baywalk garage or in the Pier parking lots.

May 5
"Roman Holiday," (1953) starring Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn, who won the Academy Award for best actress. A romantic comedy that could only happen in Rome!

May 12
"City Slickers," (1991) starring Billy Crystal as a New Yorker turned cowboy and Jack Palance as "Curly," in a performance that earned him the Academy Award for best supporting actor.

May 19
"Some Like It Hot," (1959) starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemon. Film won Golden Globe for best comedy.

May 26
"North by Northwest," (1959), a classic Hitchcock thriller starring Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint as the blonde trying to get him out of trouble. Don't forget to look for Hitchcock in the opening scene!
