G. Love Serves Up Special Show

The well known and loved bluesy, hip-hop group gave fans stellar Friday night performance.

G. Love and Special Sauce is a Philly-bred music group. A solid mix of alternative, blues and hip-hop give the band a unique flavor all their own. The band formed in 1993 and released their first album by '94.

After a grueling tour schedule and a follow up album in '95, the group split due to financial disagreements. They did not last long without each other because by 1997, the guys laid the beef to rest and put out a third album.

Since then, G. Love and Special Sauce has released five more albums and continues to tour the world. The group's most recent stop was at in downtown St. Pete on Friday night.

Despite chilly temps and a rainy day prior to the show, G. Love and Special Sauce's fans proved their loyalty. The courtyard was popping with dancing, singing and beer drinking. Songs like "Baby's Got Sauce" and "Stepping Stone" stood out as crowd favorites.

The band played until the courtyard's midnight curfew hit, before calling it quits. G. Love and Special Sauce retired to their tour bus after taking photos and signing autographs for their fans.
