St. Pete Not a Place for Food Lovers?

Do you think St. Petersburg has a good food scene?

Is St. Petersburg one of the top-10 worst places for food lovers in the country?

A national real estate blog, Movoto, said St. Pete is the seventh worst city in the U.S. for food lovers.

The blog used a formula to come up with the list based on: restaurants, bakeries, food trucks, ice cream shops, candy shops, food and win festivals caterers and gourmets grocery stores per capita.

"There are a couple of things we should point out, kind of like the fine print on the ingredients list. For starters, our data comes from crowdsourced reviews site Yelp, with the exception of our food and wine festival data which originates from a good, old-fashioned scouring of several online resources for the events," Movoto wrote. "Secondly, we only factor in businesses and events that take place within city limits; nothing in this ranking is based on metropolitan area."

The worst city for food lovers in the country, according to Movoto, is San Bernardino, Calif., followed by Garland, Texas, North Las Vegas, El Paso, Texas, Laredo, Texas and Forth Worth, Texas. St. Pete comes in seventh followed by Corpus Christi, Texas, Detroit and Chesapeake, Va.
