St. Pete's Holiday Parade

On Saturday morning, the annual parade featured Santa and a cast of hundreds of locals representing clubs, schools and businesses.

A 2 1/2-hour parade made for some excitement on Saturday morning. Visitors caught beads, candy and the sights and sounds of the floats that traveled through downtown.

The Grand Marshall of this year’s Santa Holiday Parade was none other than the German Shepherd known as Ace – the surviving partner of fallen St. Petersburg Police Officer Jeffrey Yaslowitz, killed in the line of duty in 2011.

Sponsors for the annual event included The St. Petersburg Lions Club, The Exchange Club of Northeast St. Petersburg, Florida Central Credit Union, The Suncoasters of St. Petersburg and the City of St. Petersburg.
