5 Things to do in St. Pete This Weekend

1. Vans Warped Tour

One of the longest running traveling festivals in the world makes its way to downtown St. Petersburg Friday at Vinoy Park. The Vans Warped tour features artists from various music genres including punk, rap and electronic. There will be more than 30 bands on three stages. Bands include The Used, Motion City Soundtrack, Hawthorne Heights, Mac Lethal and many more. The festival begins at 11 a.m. and tickets start at $38.50. 

2. Mick Jagger Tribute

If you're looking get some 'Satisfaction' and 'Paint it Black' head to State Theatre Friday for a Mick Jagger tribute show. Doors open at 6 p.m. Friday for the 'Sympathy for the Devil' tribute to Jagger. The show is $12 and features many bands including Garbage-Men Band, Robots Shoeless Soul, Vodkanauts and many more. 

3. Machine Gun Kelly and Biz Markie

Hip-hop takes over the Jannus complex this weekend as Machine Gun Kelly and Biz Markie play separate shows. Saturday the old school rapper will throw down in the recently opened Club Detroit. Sunday Cleveland rapper Machine Gun Kelly takes the Jannus Live stage. Tickets for both shows can be purchased online

4. My Name is Asher Lev

At downtown St. Pete's American Stage Theater, you can catch the award-winning play, 'My Name is Asher Lev.' The show, "follows the journey of a young Jewish painter torn between his Hassidic upbringing and his desperate need to fulfill his artistic promise. When his artistic genius threatens to destroy his relationship with his parents and community, young Asher realizes he must make a difficult choice between art and faith. This stirring adaptation of a modern classic presents a heartbreaking and triumphant vision of what it means to be an artist," according to American Stage. 5. Saturday Morning Market

Each Saturday during the summer months, Williams Park transforms into the Saturday Morning Market. From 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. you can check out more than 40 vendors that provide: fresh produce, pasta, plants, clothing and much more. The event is free. The market will be located at Williams through Aug. 24.
