Sweet Fruit & Savory Spice

Slow Food Tampa Bay and St. Petersburg’s Savory Spice Shopw ill co-sponsor a talk and cooking demo by Chef Emily Golden called “Sweet Fruit and Savory Spice”  The presentation will be followed by a tasting of dishes prepared by Golden, proprietor of Mindful Meals, a whole-foods delivery service.

“Summer is a time we crave fruit for hydration and sustenancea nd, because it’s summer, you can get most domestic fruits and incorporate them into every course,” says Golden. “Savory Spice Shop has an amazing variety of chilies, herbs, spices and salts for making sauces, marinades, dressings, side dishes and salads.”

Golden launched Mindful Meals, which delivers freshly
prepared, wholesome meals to clients, in 2008. The St. Petersburg chef is inspired by fresh local and organic ingredients available seasonally and draws inspiration from all over the world, the Mediterranean Ring and Latin America in particular. Previously, Emily was co-owner of Blue Gardenia Eclectic Trattoria in Tampa and worked as a line chef. For more information, visit www.mindfulmealspc.com.
