Ferg's to Host Fundraiser for Family Who Lost Home During Fire

The Tampa Bay Community is again going to gather on Saturday, May 18, at Ferg's Sports bar in St. Pete to help a family in need.

The St. Petersburg community will be rallying Saturday evening at Ferg's Sports bar to help a local family after a fire destroyed the home of Renee Mott and her son, Dylan.

On March 17, the Mott family was able escape the raging fire in their St. Pete home but quickly learned that insurance was not going to help.

According to Ferg's, after contacting the insurance company, Renee found they had no contents insurance on the property, leaving her and Dylan to live for the past two months in the burnt out remains.

Dylan, a freshman at Osceola High School, had a local lawn care business to help out his mom; however, all of his equipment was destroyed in the fire, a news release said.

"You can imagine how this mom & son are feeling," Ferg's wrote in a news release. "Please join us as we band together at Ferg’s to help pick this family up off the ground. I invite you to be part of something that will probably change your life as much as theirs. The awesome band “The Tempests” (you may have enjoyed them at 1st Fridays) will be there to provide entertainment for our guests."
