Giant Eyeball Found on Florida Beach to Be Studied in St. Petersburg

A mystery eyeball that washed ashore on Pompano Beach in Florida will be transported to St. Petersburg for study.

A giant eyeball that washed ashore on Pompano Beach is confounding scientists who are trying to solve its origins.

The mystery eyeball will be transported to Florida Fish & Wildlife Research Institute in Florida for further study, according to First Coast News.

The blue eyeball is described as the size of a softball.  Some scientists are guessing it may have come from a deep sea squid.
