Lucky Dill Wins Best Lunch Spot in St. Pete

The local landmark wins Patch's weekly 'Best of' poll, which asked readers for their favorite downtown lunch place.

ST. PETERSBURG – The Lucky Dill lucked out.

The downtown landmark won the Patch "Best of" weekly contest, which asked readers to vote on their favorite downtown lunch spot.

The Lucky Dill Deli, at 277 Central Ave., took 23 percent of the vote to second-place Preacher's BBQ, which had 20 percent. The Hangar came in third.

The Lucky Dill is a New York style deli located in the downtown core of St. Petersburg. It is a favorite with office workers who like their sandwiches piled high with choice meat. It also is popular for breakfast, including with Mayor Bill Foster, who held one of his early morning meet-and-greets at the city deli.

The Lucky Dill wins a hearty congratulations, a "Best of" Patch plaque and a shoutout on Facebook and Twitter.
