Update: Runaway Child Returns Home

Police said 10-year-old Alena Lynn Beattie ran away from her home at 2353 58 St. N sometime between 8 a.m. and noon today.

Update, 5:45 p.m.: Alena Beattie has been located and returned home unharmed, according to St. Petersburg Police.

Earlier, 4:45 p.m.: St. Petersburg Police are searching for a runaway 10-year-old girl Tuesday afternoon. 

Police said Alena Lynn Beattie ran away from her home at 2353 58 St. N sometime between 8 a.m. and noon today.

Alena, 10, is a light skinned biracial female, who is, 5'0", 95 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes. Police said she was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans shorts (see attached flyer) and possibly carrying a suitcase.

According to police, Alena left a note for her mother citing a disagreement they had the previous evening as the reason for her leaving.

She has not runaway in the past, police said.

Detectives are concerned that she may be endangered due to her young age and are asking for the public's assistance in locating her.
