Woman Let Dog Starve to Death, Police Say

A neighbor discovered the dog's decomposing body inside a rental home where Anderson lived.

A 24-year-old St. Petersburg woman faces a charge of felony animal abuse, after she let her Great Dane dog starve to death, police said.

Alyssa Anderson left her dog without food or water for two weeks, according to police. She was arrested and booked into the Pinellas County Jail last weekend.

The dog was found inside Anderson's rental home by a neighbor who had noticed a rotting smell for several days, according to WTSP. The dog's carcass was found in the living room.
