YWCA Tampa Bay's 6th Annual Stand Against Racism

YWCA Tampa Bay is pleased to
announce Naomi Tutu, global race and gender justice activist and the daughter
of Archbishop Desmond Tutu, will be the featured speaker at its sixth annual
Stand Against Racism™ on April 24, 2014, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the All
Children’s Hospital’s Conference and Education Center at 701 4th Street South,
St. Petersburg, FL 33701.
The event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited, and online
registration is encouraged: http://www.ywcaoftampabay.org/stand2014

The third child of Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Nomalizo Leah Tutu, Nontombi
“Naomi” Tutu speaks on the challenges of growing up black and female in
apartheid South Africa, which have been the foundation of her life as an
activist for human rights. Those experiences taught her that our whole human
family loses when we accept situations of oppression, and how the teaching and
preaching of hate and division injure us all. In her speeches, she blends this
passion for human dignity with humor and personal stories.
