Where are The Candidates?

One week ago I Posted It's Time To Go On The Record. Seven questions of interest to St. Pete Voters. So far only one candidate has seen fit to respond, and one has e-mailed an intent to do so.

Makes me wonder why the incumbents and new candidates are so reluctant to go on the record in social media with answers.

The questions are straight forward, no attempt to trick anyone:

Questions:

1. Should the LENS come to a referendum, will you support voting to stop the project.

2. Do you support closing the Pier?

3. Will you move to end the red light camera program?

4. Do you support the Rays talking to anyone in Pinellas County or Hillsborough County about a stadium site?

5. Do you support the neighborhood association concept and what will you do to specifically help rebuild this City asset?

6. Do you support hiring a new Police Chief?

7. What specifically what will you do to begin to reduce crime and improve the quality of life in South St. Pete?

Since it now appears the Stop The LENS vote will be on the same ballot as the primary, it seems taking a position will be critical to winning the primary.

Some candidates are ducking the questions, some are too busy raising money from big contributors and hobnobbing with big time politicians to worry much about the answers to your questions.

Political cuteness and listening to much to the elite and the big money is what got St. Pete into the mess it's in. One only needs to look at the latest poll results on City Council and the Mayor.

My guess is as a candidate you will have to answer these questions sooner or later, so why not get on the record now?
