The LENS
The 828 Committee announced this week they will ask City Staff for some costs associated with opening the existing Pier for limited use. In light of the pending legal appeal by the Save The Pier Group, City's numbers should be interesting.
Speaking about the 828 Committee's suggestion of reopening the Pier, Leslie Curran said "I don't think that was at all what the mayor's intention for that committee was."
No. Really?

Originally the Mayor said the 828 group could consider some options for the old Pier. Now after they suggest it reopen partially, he says the old Pier will not reopen.
Consistent leadership. First Foster was for it now he is against it.

St. Petersburg Ballot
If you requested a mail in ballot, it will probably show up next week. Tired of the LENS mess? Go to the only Ballot question and vote YES. That will cancel the contract for the LENS.
While you're at it at go back to the top of your Ballot and vote for Ford or Kriseman so we can have some leadership on the next Pier effort.

The St. Pete Chicken
Has the St. Pete Chicken knocked Kathleen Ford out of the Mayor's Race? If you missed it see Peter Schorsch Post: What a Difference a Chicken Makes. The race is definitely going to tighten up, especially as some of the big money Foster and Kriseman have raised is put to work.
The Chicken will forever be the iconic symbol of this Mayoral election. If he could just be trained to tilt his head a little to the left when he clucks, one might mistake him (the chicken) for Bill Foster.
